10/11/2018 - 08:41:00 (RTTNews)

(RTTNews) - Sweden's inflation accelerated for the first time in three months during September, preliminary data from Statistics Sweden showed on Thursday.

The consumer price index rose 2.3 percent year-on-year after a 2 percent increase in August. Inflation was 2.1 percent in both June and July.

On a month-on-month basis, the CPI climbed 0.5 percent from August, when it declined 0.2 percent.

Inflation based on the CPIF index accelerated to 2.5 percent from 2.2 percent in each of the previous months.

The core index rose 0.5 percent from the previous month.

Clothing prices rose 7.4 percent, thus making the biggest contribution to inflation in September.
